At the monthly Nutmeg book discussion, everyone agreed to continue having monthly book discussions. The book they chose for February 13th is Eragon by Christopher Paolini. We'd like to figure out a way to see the movie as a group and then discussing that also. Call the library (797-4528) if you want to sign up. |

New Year's Eve will not be as much fun as we were planning. First Night Danbury is canceled for this year.
Perhaps we can use the time on Tuesday afternoon, December 26th, to plan and have tryouts for the play, The Bookworm, which the Teen Council is performing in the Spring. Let me know (797-4528 or email) if you are interested as soon as possible. |

More than 18 teens were in the Program Room last night for Wednesday night ddr. If you missed it, we'll be there every Wednesday from 6-7:30. Drop in next week. |
| Some of you are already aware of a new club, DHS STAND that was recently approved by the administration at DHS. Kaberi, a longtime volunteer with the Teen Council, is the President and sent me the link to the new website. Go to the DHS STAND and learn what you can do. If you have not seen the video, “The Promise” Darfur STOP THE GENOCIDE, made by a group of DHS concerned students, you should. One major thrust of DHS STAND is to raise awareness, and I hope that many of you will explore the website and view the video.
Remember, you are the generation that can change the future. |

First Night Danbury is happening again this year and the Teen council will get together to make the large puppets that lead a parade down Main Street to the Green. We plan to get together in the Program Room on December 26th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can drop in and stay as long as you wish. Come in for a few hours and make your own puppet or help other teens with their creations. Even if you can’t march on First Night, come in and help make the puppets anyway. And check out the Events Page to see what else is happening for teens at the Danbury Library. |

Teen volunteers have been bugging me for a while to do another play. We agreed at the monthly meeting to revise the play, The Bookworm. This works well for the little kids and it gives flexibility with teen parts.
The picture to the left is of the cast from the 2001 performance. Most of the teens in the picture have graduated or moved away. I hope to have even more teens involved in the 2007 production. We added some good books during November. Ruler of the realm by Herbie Brennan is the third book in the Faerie Wars Chronicles. If you’re a fan of Faerie Wars and The Purple Emperor, you will want to read this book. Another new book is Terrier, the new Beka Cooper series, by Tamora Pierce. Put a hold on it and we’ll call you when it is returned or additional new books are delivered. Remember, holds are my way of knowing what is popular and what titles need additional copies ordered.
