Program Ideas Please

If you are a gamer, you know the release date of Halo 3. If you are a serious gamer, you have already reserved your copy.

This brings up a question I have put out before. I am planning to begin DDR the first Wednesday in October. Same time (6-7:30); same place (Program Room). But I want to expand the program to include other games. I am purchasing additional consuls so that we will have Guitar Hero and perhaps Madden NFL 07 or Mario Bros. My question is which consul should I get? We have the xbox and all the DDR games. The pads will not be problematic this year if I can help it. If you don't give me some ideas, then don't complain that I didn't get what you want.

emakoblue_100pix.jpg

Every January, Connecticut students vote for one of the ten Nutmeg Nominated Books. The winner receives the Nutmeg Award View image for the teen category. The 2007 winner was Vampire High by Douglas Rees.

The nominees for 2008 have been announced. Go to the Nutmeg Award site for a complete list of the nominated titles.

The FRIENDS of the Danbury Library is sponsoring book discussions on all 10 of the nominated titles. The first discussion is Emako Blue by Brenda Woods to be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Library Technology Center Conference Room. Call or stop in to register. The first ten Danbury residents to register will receive a free copy of the book.

Look What's New - July

Stoneheart_200pix.jpg</a>

Most of the books we received in June are flying off the shelf. You might want to look at the new books for July and August. Take advantage of the time out of school to read for pleasure without the stress of school reports.

I also suggest you look at the list and place holds if the book is out. There are also some good suggestions and links on the "Read It" page and look at what is new.

I also encourage you to write short reviews for the web page. If you email your comments to me, I will put them up quickly. You might also just click on comment and give us your opinion that way.
