Before you take off for the summer I wanted to remind you that the Summer Reading Program begins next week, June 16th.
The reading program is a bit different this year. This year you will be recording time read and not specific books. Also, in addition to the Limo ride to school on the first day for a middle school student and a high school student, we have a Wii and and prizes to Golf Quest. You will receive your 'game card' in school along with a flyer listing all the programs and events we will be having at the library this summer.
There is a special Wii tournament just for teens and the winner will receive a Flip Video Camera. So what do you think? Hey, I still need teen volunteers so see me to get the application.

Wow, the program has definetely improved to attract more teen readers. I hope that previous redears in the program will like the new format; it looks like a change for the better.

I don't know. I feel like the new program format is a little confusing. Plus, now that it goes by time read instead of number of books, I know there will be plenty of teens and younger readers who will finish the program very early and then have nothing to do. There are other parts I have issues with too, but I do think the prizes are really good this year. Hopefully it will still work out with all the new changes. Good luck you guys! Wish I was with you all this summer!
