If you are entering grades 6-12, you will want to check out the Wild West Reading Game. You simply need to and read two hours a week. When you come to the library we will record your time, give you a weekly prize, and also a coupon for the drawing of the grand prize of your choice. If you participate in all 7 weeks, you will receive a 1G flash drive bracelet.

Middle school students will also receive an invitation to Mayor Boughton’s Reading Challenge Celebration. All you have to do is complete all seven weeks, and you are eligible for weekly prizes, grand prizes and an invitation to a recognition event with the Mayor at City Hall in August.
But this is not where the fun ends! In the Corral your Creative Side program we invite you to step into the acting frontier with this four session theatre series. Sign up for one or for all. Registration is required for each session so call 203-797-4528 or sign-up online. Workshops limited to 20 and are located in the Lower Level Meeting Room from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- July 6: Take the Stage Theatre games, improvisations and acting exercises
- July 13: Find your Creativity through the Arts Small group activities to build trust, spontaneity and creativity.
- July 20: Acting in Masks Explore acting and character development. Wear comfortable clothes.
- July 27: Creative Dramatics Art Workshop Discover the fundamental elements and principles of art
Finally, on Wednesday, August 10 at 4:00 p.m., we will show the film Rango in the Farioly Program Room. This 2D computer-animated Western comedy is directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Graham King.
