A Pumpkin in the Road: A Hands-on Drama Class

Saturday, November 23
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Farioly Program Room

Love to act? You’re invited to act out a great Thanksgiving drama entitled “A Pumpkin in the Road.” The Mayor of Pumpkinville and his wife, Hilda, are getting ready for the big Thanksgiving Festival but are saddened that everyone in their town seems to think only of themselves, and they don’t think about doing good to others. Hilda and the Mayor come up with a plan to weed out the helpful from the not so helpful. All the townspeople are tested to see who will move a pumpkin from the middle of the road. Children will have a great time acting out this story. Everyone will wear a costume piece and play a character. The class will end with a creative art activity.

Ingrid Schaeffer will lead this activity. She is a teacher at The Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven. She has done several programs at Danbury Library in the past and they were enjoyed by all.
